Why do some black people feel the need to uphold the stereotype?

I live in the suburbs and im black. Most other black kids in my school are from the same area we went to the same elementary and middle school and some of them even sat next to me in english class. However out of nowhere they started talking ghetto and claiming to be ghetto acting loud, being belligerent, claiming to kno gang members and are all into their clothes and "swag" just like the rappers they see on the TV. Why do some black people do this, why can't they just be themselves instead of upholding the stereotype of ignorance?..IM not racist btw lol
