Good students who bully.?

When I went to school, I wasn't doing properly during my elementary school years and everybody used to make fun of me because of my bad grades. Later, I started to do better in school, but the bullies were usually the top students. This one bully had the best grades in school, was a star athlete, and a music master. He'd rub his success in my face and I got sick of it. He'd compare himself to me and he'd say like "your grades are nothing compared to mine" and so on. Has anybody experienced the "good student bully?" I'm asking this because the stereotype is that bullies are dumb, but the ones I met were the best students. If so, then what do we call the best students who bully?
