Does anybody know anything about game testing as a profession?

I do like to play video games. I fit the stereotype, mid 20's, plays video games.. The experience I like to get out of them when played is simple. I just want to beat the game. All I'm concerned with is was the game good/bad and this is what I would do to improve the gaming experience. I could honestly care less about the story line. I'm more concerned with the graphics, gameplay, & complexity of controls. I like to be able to say I've played everything once as apposed to playing the same game for a couple years
